Coming Home for Christmas
Advent in Isaiah with 1517
Join us this Advent as we explore our series: “Coming Home for Christmas.” The theme of home and homecoming is a meaningful theme. For many, home means togetherness; it means rest; it means prioritizing relationships over work; it means comfort and safety. As much as we want to feel “at home,” the reality is that much of life feels very differently. In fact, we often feel alienated, like exiles, even in our own houses. Christmas can exacerbate that sense of alienation.
The good news is that our God didn’t rest until he gave us rest in Christ Jesus. Jesus came into our exile, took on our alienation from God and the world, and he carried down into the grave all the things that alienate us from one another and our God. Then he rose from the grave so that you and I, and all restless people, might find our rest in Him.
We hope you’ll be blessed this Advent and Christmas Season as we rediscover how Jesus made His home among us in the midst of our
restlessness and gives us the togetherness, rest, comfort, and safety of home by His grace alone.
