New to St. Paul Ann Arbor?

Who is St. Paul Ann Arbor?

St. Paul is a Christian family that is dedicated to bringing the good news of Jesus to our neighbors in the Ann Arbor area. As a Lutheran Church and School, we are rooted in the Good News of Jesus as the Apostles and Prophets have taught in the Bible, and we believe that the Holy Spirit is sending us (and you!) to welcome neighbors into community with Jesus by sowing truth, building faith and shining love.

"What's the vibe at st. paul?"

  • Pastor Ted likes to say that we take Jesus seriously but not ourselves. So, worship is a mixture of reverence - because God is present when we gather, and relaxed - because gathering for worship is also about God's people connecting and encouraging one another as friends.

  • Some people dress formally, but most dress more comfortably, business casual or even more casually than that.

  • We sing a lot at St. Paul - mostly hymns but with new music mixed in using a variety of instruments. We are blessed to have a Julliard trained music director in Dr. B. so our music is always top notch!

  • We also love having children in worship, and many of our families worship with their young children, especially at the Earhart campus where we offer Kids Word during the sermon.
"What's the best way to connect?"

  • We'd love to have you visit St. Paul whether downtown for 6:30pm church on Saturday evenings or Sunday mornings downtown at 8:30am or at the school campus on Earhart at 10:45am (10:15am in the Summer)!

  • If you want to get a sense of who Pastor Ted and Pastor Roggow are, you might want to watch a Sermon Refresh video, which are 5-8 minute videos recapping and extending the sermon from the weekend.
  • If you'd like a better sense of the music and worship of St. Paul, please watch a recording of our Sunday morning Live Stream.

  • If you are looking to meet new people with a shared interest outside of our worship check out our Community Groups! These are short-term groups centered around shared interests, offering a place to connect, grow, and thrive. Open to everyone!

Discover SPAA through

our Pathway Class

A great way to learn more about St. Paul Lutheran Church & School is to take part in our Pathway class.  Pathway is a 9-week class that meets on Sunday evenings with the pastors and other church leaders. We will talk about what faith in Jesus looks like, return to some foundational basics of God’s Word, and introduce you to what St. Paul is all about.  There is no pressure to become a member after taking the class, and the class is a great way to learn more about Jesus and the Bible, meet some St. Paul people, understand what St. Paul is all about, and learn more about what it means to be Lutheran.

Would you like to Join Our Community of Faith?

When God makes us His friends by faith in Jesus, God also brings us into community with each other. The Christian faith is always lived together as the Holy Spirit leads us to encourage, forgive, and remind one another of God's Word and grace. St. Paul Lutheran Church & School is a congregation of Jesus followers in the Ann Arbor area who come together to hear God’s Word, receive His gifts, build one another up as the body of Christ, and serve in Jesus’ name. Although we would be glad to have you simply join us for worship and be part of our community, it's even better to formally become part of the congregation by joining it in membership. By joining officially in membership, we tie ourselves to the mission of sowing truth, building faith, and shining love, and we tie ourselves to one another, to building each other up in the body of Christ. Just as marriage is a beautiful God-ordained gift because it is a formal commitment between husband and wife so church membership helps us follow Jesus by committing ourselves to one another in faith and love. We'd love to have you join St. Paul's community of sinners who have yet been forgiven by Jesus Christ and called into his mission by the Holy Spirit.

For any additional information regarding membership at St. Paul, please contact the church office at 734-665-9117 or Pastor Roggow at aroggow@stpaulannarbor.org
