Prodigal
God: Recovering the Heart of the Christian Faith
(Tim Keller)
This would be great for all small groups. This contemporary interpretation of the Parable of the Prodigal reveals both our sin
and the immense grace of God. The book is excellent and readable, and there is a great study in DVDs with a discussion guide.
The Reason for God
(Tim Keller)
This is a good book for all small groups. It might be a little heady at times, but it is written at a level most will understand
everything, and deals with problems we all experience. This is a great book to dive into objections into the Christian faith and
better be able to understand the rationale of the Christian faith. Pastor Hopkins has written a discussion guide to help guide
conversation on the book.

Evangelism in an Age of Despair (Andrew Root)
This would be a deeper book for a group willing to get into harder philosophical and cultural analysis. Root is an excellent critic
of the culture, and he helps us see how we have focused on happiness as a culture as a goal more than anything else. His
point about evangelism as consolation is also helpful even though that doesn't mean there is no room for polemics (argument about
truth).
Faith
for Exiles: 5 Ways for a New Generation to Follow Jesus in a Digital Babylon
(David Kinnamon and Mark Matlock)
This is a book with a lot of research and statistics into the status of faith among Christians, especially young people, in America.
It was published in 2020, but still quite relevant on where things stand in the church, even if the most recent numbers show
Christianity no longer declining in America. This book will challenge you for how we live together and follow Jesus together as a
church.
