Christo me ama, bien lo se’

Su palabra me hace ver,

Que los ninos son de aquel

Quien es nuestro amigo fiel.

Si, Cristo me ama,

Si, Cristo me ama,

Si, Cristo me ama,

La Biblia dice asi’.

Chapel Offering: Books for Bethany

Offerings for November and December will go to Bethany Lutheran School in Detroit.  Bethany is one of the remaining Lutheran schools in Detroit.  They are trying to update their library holdings.

Middle School has a suggestion board in the hallway of possible books needed to donate to Bethany.  Please check the board for suggestions.  Please remember, anything St. Paul will not put in its library will not be given to Bethany.  Check with Mrs. Cassar if you are unsure.

You may take a card off the board in the middle school hallway to purchase or bring in to the collection.

Middle School Science Presentations
During the course of each semester, the middle school students will be presenting small science demonstrations before their peers.  Many books on science experiments are available at the library and at book stores.  You can also get science experiments off the internet (www.kidzone.ws/science/index.htm;  www.hunkinsexperiments.com; )  There are MANY other sites that you can explore.  Students should practice their experiment at home before presenting to the class.  Girls and boys need to explain what is happening during the experiment.
When selecting a demonstration, I like to use the KISS method - Keep It Simple  Silly.  The best experiments are the ones that can easily be explained yet make a good scientific point.  During the course of each semester, the middle school students will have the opportunity to make their presentation.  There will be a note coming home next week with your childs assigned presentation date.
