We had another great week here at school! Not as fun as camp week but still awesome! The weather was fantastic and the days are slowly counting down. We are all excited for the end of the year to get here! Well, not all of us! With the end of the year fast approaching there are still a few things that need to be done. Below is a few reminders of what we will be doing.
This week we will be starting sex education. We will be talking on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Just wanted to inform you so if questions arise you know why!
Don't forget that the poetry book report is due on Wednesday. I have placed a copy of the report requirements on this site if you need them. I am looking forward to seeing all the kids have done!
On Friday May 29th we will be having our last Social Studies test. I will send home a study guide no later then Wednesday. I know the kids will be excited to finish up with one subject.
On Tuesday June 2nd, I was able to schedule our last field trip. We will be going to the Ann Arbor Hands on Museum. We will be going through the museum but also doing a lab while we are there. We will leave at about 11:00 or there abouts, so we can arrive by 11:30am. It is really going to be a lot of fun! Check to see if you will be able to drive as we will need drivers. The kids will also need to have a sack lunch that day.
That about wraps it up! I hope you have a fabulous weekend and plan on making worship a part of your plans. See you on Tuesday!!
In Christ~
Nicki

The Fifth Petition with Meaning
And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
That does this mean? We pray in this petition that our Father in heaven would not look at our sins, or deny our prayer because of them. We are neither worthy of the things for which we pray, nor have we deserved them, but we ask that He would give them all to us by grace, for we daily sin much and surely deserve nothing but punishment. So we too will sincerely forgive and gladly do good to those who sin against us.

I can't believe that we are half way done with the school year. Today marks the end of the second quarter. I will be working on updating grades this weekend and finalizing things for the report cards. The report cards will be sent home on Friday.
I hope that you are finding it easy to access this newsletter and the memory work and spelling that I post here as well. I really appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we move from paper to the internet. I know that last week the memory was very small when printed out so I will try this week to make it larger.
As a reminder, we do not have school on Monday due to the holiday. On Tuesday, as my note stated, we will be gearing our day toward the Inauguration and the past Presidents. The kids will be doing web searches for fun and interesting facts about events that have happened during these events and also to find information about the Presidents themselves. In addition, we will be watching the swearing in ceremony. There is a great deal of history and tradition involved and I feel that it is a great opportunity to see this happen live. I would encourage you to ask them what they learned when they come home and talk with them about any swearing in ceremonies you have observed. What a great conversation at dinner!!
I want to thank you for your understanding in my moving back the vacation project due date. I understand that many of you have worked hard to reach that date and I thank you. For those students that turn in their project on the original due date they will receive and extra 10 extra credit points. For those that need time, the new due date is February 2nd. I am really looking forward to seeing what they have created. If they decided to do a powerpoint you can email the to me and I will save it in their file.
That about covers my news! As usual, if you have any questions or comments email me or ask! I hope you have a great weekend and plan on making church a part of your weekend!!

The start of the second quarter has been very success so far and I look for more greatness from the kids. With the start of this quarter comes stricter policies on spelling, late papers, and the classroom rules. I feel that at this time, the rules have been well established and I will start to enforce them more strictly. I will also be checking daily for uniforms. This also includes tucked in shirts. Many of the kids do not do this and they will be required to from this point on. I will also be contacting you if you are acquiring too many tardy slips. The school has a policy that after a set number of tardies, you will be charged a fee each time. I have the specific information if you do not, but I would refer you to the school handbook.
I am sure that your students have told you that I met with them regarding their report cards on Friday. I do this so they have the opportunity to ask questions about grade they received and also so I can explain to them what I am proud of them for and also where I feel they can make improvements! I am very pleased with all of their work and I look forward to seeing what the next quarter brings! I hope that you have a safe and fun weekend and that you are able to make church a part of your plans. I look forward to seeing you soon!
