   3rd Grade News

March 8, 2010

Our star student this week will be Ruthie.  Thank you Maddy for sharing about your life last week.  Please keep these two families in your prayers this week.

Today the third grade class had the opportunity to take and leave phone messages. They’re the age where they can become more responsible to help answer phone calls. Please give them the chance at home to show you their new skills. They love to help out and feel like they are doing important jobs at the home as well. You may even what to call them from your cell phone to help write down a message to remind you of something when you get home. This is also a great way to improve their listening and writing skills.

A Scholastic Book order was sent home today, if you are interested in ordering; please return it by this Friday.

Please continue to practice multiplication and subtraction facts with your child. The more they practice them, the easier it will be for them to do their math assignments.

Mrs. Massey wanted to make sure that you knew that the children will have no recorders now until May, because they are practicing for the spring musical. They will need to have sunglasses that they will use on their song "We Know You're Spies". The sunglasses should be plain (no Barbie, superhero, etc.). There is no need to have them at school until much closer to the play.

The children have begun their Native American project last week. They have chosen a tribe that they would like to report on and a partner to work with. This will take the place of a book report this month. There is a sheet that was sent home today to give them the expectations of the project.

God bless you and your family with love and laughter.

In Christ,

Lori Lewis
