Full Day Kindergarten Classroom Management

My Philosophy

I believe that as a Teacher, I am present to facilitate active learning experiences each day.  I am continuing to learn myself and pray that I will give each child a love for learning.  I will provide developmentally appropriate activities to help each child grow spiritually, physically, mentally, socially, creatively and emotionally.

Classroom Management

Each child is a special gift from God.  Therefore, as we grow together in Christ, our classroom will be a place where each child will become a life long learner, discovering all their gifts God has given us.  I expect both teachers and students to treat each other with kindness and forgiveness.  Therefore, I encourage students to:

·         Listen to each other with respect

·         Use Christian and encouraging words.

·         Respect each child’s right to learn

·         Do your best!

I believe in lots of positive reinforcement.  When a student is following these rules, the child will receive a “Praiser” on a special card.  When the card is filled, the child may chose a special prize and a note will be sent home.  As a class, when we work together, a reward jar will be filled and class parties or surprises will take place.  If a student needs a reminder, I will give the student a:

·         verbal reminder, “what would Jesus do?”

·         redirect the child with another activity

·         remove the child from the group with a private talk

·         contact the parents /have the child talk with the principal

Thank you for your partnership as we work together to provide the best Christian education for your child.  With your support, we can “train up a child in the way he should go . . .”

In Christ,  Julie Novak
